‘Skooter’ Urges Kids to be Seen and Safe

20th October 2008

Cartoon safety character Skooter joins Sean O’Brien and Cara McColgan from Forge Integrated Primary School, south Belfast to remind other school children to take extra care on their bikes as daylight hours shorten and winter approaches.

The ‘Be Seen, Be Safe’ message is being promoted by DOE and Centra as part of their Cycling Proficiency Scheme campaign and aims to improve childrens’ road safety after the clocks go back an hour on Sunday October 26.

The partners are reminding children to wear high visibility clothing, reflective belts, as well as lights and reflectors on their bikes to be seen clearly on dark nights.
