Brittany Helped Launch Dancercise Routine

17th February 2011

A young dancer who is set to take part in the live finals of the popular Sky 1 show 'Got to Dance' at the end of the month helped local charity Action Cancer promote a dance routine as part its health promotion programme for schools, which is sponsored by Centra.

Brittany Edwards (13), a student at Ashfield Girls School in east Belfast, took part in promotional pictures for the charity at the end of 2009 to encourage local schools to get involved in a unique health scheme that aims to get students dancing their way to a healthy lifestyle. Dancercise, which involves modern dance moves, is delivered by Action Cancer's Health Promotion team as part of the Health Action programme, supported by Centra since 2003.

Brittany and Jessica Glass (11), also from Belfast, wowed the Got to Dance judges with their contemporary dance act Two's Company in a semi final of the show last weekend and will dance in the live final on Sunday 27 February. Centra Brand Manager Nicky Kelly said; "We really appreciated Brittany's help in promoting the Dancercise element of the Health Action project. It was incredible to see some of her dance moves at the time. We'd like to wish the girls the best of luck for the Got to Dance final."

To make a booking for your school to take part in the Health Action programme, including the Dancercise routine please contact Action Cancer on 028 9080 3344 or email schools@actioncancer.org
