Centra Keady Cake Sale Brings in the Dough for Action Cancer

20th January 2011

Gleenan's Centra store, Keady has raised £700 for its charity partner Action Cancer.

The fantastic fundraising total was raised by staff who organised a cake sale before Christmas.

The funds raised by the Centra staff and customers will benefit the charity's Health Action health programme for young people, which is sponsored by Centra and its independent retail partners across Northern Ireland. Health Action has been designed to educate young people on healthier lifestyles, including exercise, healthy eating and the dangers of smoking and alcohol.

Action Cancer and Centra have had an award-winning partnership since 2003, to advance the local cancer charity's health promotion service for schools and colleges and reduce cancer risk among young people. To date over 300,000 young people have taken part in the scheme.
