McDade's Centra Derrylin raises £800 for Action Cancer

29th July 2011

Staff and customers at McDade's Centra Derrylin are celebrating another fundraising success, having raised £800 for Action Cancer.

More than 80 staff and customers took part in a 5mile walk in aid of Northern Ireland's leading cancer charity Action Cancer. The fundraising challenge is part of the award-winning Health Action programme, which is supported by Centra retailers across the province. Since the partnership between Action Cancer and Centra was launched in 2003, Centra retailers and their customers have raised more than £650,000 funding 350,000 Health Action sessions for young people.

Owner Aidan McDade said: "We were delighted to see so many people joining us for the walk, which raised funds for Action Cancer. Thanks to the generous support of our staff and customers we have raised £800 for the charity and everyone seemed to really enjoy the day as well. Centra Derrylin has always been committed to the community in which we operate, not only offering a great shopping experience but also supporting our customers in their everyday lives. I want to thank all our staff and customers for their on-going support".
