Centra Greenbank Raises £1,000 for Action Cancer

18th February 2010

Larkin’s Centra Greenbank, Newry has raised £1,000 for its charity partner Action Cancer.

The funds were raised over the past year by staff and customers for Action Cancer, through in-store collections.

The funds raised by Centra will benefit the charity’s Health Action health programme for young people, which is sponsored by Centra and its independent retail partners across Northern Ireland. Health Action has been designed to educate young people on healthier lifestyles, including exercise, healthy eating and the dangers of smoking and alcohol.

Action Cancer and Centra have had an award-winning partnership since 2003, to advance the local cancer charity’s health promotion service for schools and colleges and reduce cancer risk among young people. To date over 250,000 young people have taken part in the scheme.
