Centra Draperstown in Marathon Fundraiser for Action Cancer

Staff at the Centra store in Draperstown have raised £1,176 for the store’s charity partner Action Cancer.

The amazing amount was raised by 11 staff who took part in the recent Belfast marathon, through in-store collections and events. The funds raised by the Centra store will benefit Action Cancer’s Health Action programme for young people, which is sponsored by Centra and its independent retail partners across Northern Ireland. Health Action has been designed to educate young people on healthier lifestyles, including exercise, healthy eating and the dangers of smoking and alcohol.

Action Cancer and Centra have had an award-winning partnership since 2003, to advance the local cancer charity’s health promotion service for schools and colleges and reduce cancer risk among young people. To date over 300,000 young people have taken part in the scheme.
