McCrudden’s Centra Culmore has been awarded the Excellence Ireland Quality Association (EIQA) Hygiene Mark Certificate.
To gain the award, participating stores have regular hygiene audits and spot-checks covering every area of the business from food preparation to storage and retailing. All hygiene procedures are documented and staff training is a key element for successful hygiene mark businesses. Holding the Hygiene Mark not only demonstrates compliance to HACCP legislation it provides a benchmark of ‘good practice’ for the food retail sector while protecting the consumer.
Owner William McCrudden said: “Training our staff is key to business success and it is something we take very seriously in our store. Hygiene in all stores should be at the highest possible standard and receiving this award highlights our commitment to bringing our customers consistently high levels of service and creating a clean and safe environment for them to shop in.”
Brian Cassidy, Regional Manager added:
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Centra Culmore on their achievement. This achievement demonstrates the stores commitment to excellence in business. The team have worked hard to consistently deliver high standards, which is very much part of the culture of our combined organizations. Musgrave believes in supporting retailers who participate in this scheme. Retailers see an improvement in their business results, and the quality of customer service, through the training that staff receive as part of Hygiene Mark discipline.
Centra and SuperValu brands are the only Retail brands in the independent sector in NI which submit to such rigorous external auditing
